SBDNY Module Day 3

Partner rubs into threading into rolling w/ each other.

Find something to focus your eyes on, let this gaze wind and unwind you, like pirouette spotting. As it moves you around the room, find touches that turn into spontaneous choreography duets.

Don't dance --> form. Explore partner w/ more than just hands - use all body parts. The place that's almost a shape but not quite a shape is the most interesting. Don't try to get out of discomfort by dropping the movement completely - find a way to transform into the next position. If you collide with another group and a natural quartet emerges - let it! Don't run away from anything - turn everything into the work:  a scratch, a smile, pulling lint off your clothes, catching eyes with someone or something.

Expose/ invite/ make yourself available for someone else to connect with you. Let your gaze focus on ANY detail in the room/someone's body. Trace it. Touch it.

A long, continuous, deep relationship with someone and then a very sudden, abrupt, strong/violent affair.

Circles around others and around yourself. Crop circles, forwards and backwards. Add head, lose up from down and side from side. Ride the wave - let it take you. Fight against the wave. The wave defeats you.

BE APPARENT.

Retrace the wave and the fight.

Let hands communicate with someone across the room.

Change axis.
